This is our final day here. We will go on to Krabi tomorrow by boat. Then on to less populated beaches. Kata is fun but totally set up for the rich jet-set fromnorther Europe. Krabi, being tougher to get to ought to be a little less franchised and a little less crowded. From Krabi we can go to Hat Railay. It should look something like the redoubt used by Scaramanga in one of the Bond movies.
We are having a great time. Today we will hang out by the pool and figure out what the next week will look like. Kata Country house is actually a pretty sweet set-up ($25/night). And there is a 7-11 next door (useful for when Kris wants Pringles at 10 PM). We sat in bed last night watching Talladega nights and eating miniature pringles.
We wnt for a walk on the beach this morning. It was low tide. Unfortunately a lot of trash had washed up on the beach. I guess the last thought in this community is how to deal with trash, which I think washes in alonf the streams from the inland hills where the less affluent live.
PS Kris' hair has never been so frizzy!

Sounds like things are going great. I know that Walter was lonely for NASCAR and I'm glad he was able to get a fix with the movie.
DC has been rainy and windy all week, so you picked a great time to go. Today is cool but beautiful. Obama still leads in the polls; McBush & Saracuda continue to turn up the negative heat. Absentee (early) voting is breaking all records and is going strongly Obama (in 2004 absentee voting favored Bush). Keep your fingers crossed. I suppose you knew all that from the 'Net, but there it is anyway.

Hey Lovebirds- The Phillies won the world series and the town is having a great time. I went to South Philly on Weds., Broad Street was closed from the stadiums to City Hall. Everyone was happy!

btw- McCain is speaking at the high school on Sunday. You cannot turn around in this state without running into a candidate.
